In 1990, founder Ty Measom found himself both frustrated and inspired with the size and quality of the outdoor cooking equipment available. He set out to create a product that was both portable and powerful. After countless hours of brainstorming, engineering, and tinkering, the Pro60 was born-and along with it-a company to pioneer the camp-cooking industry. The simple, yet durable design was applauded by outdoorsmen everywhere. Since then we’ve added griddles and grill box attachments, a variety of cast iron pieces, and more recently-pellet grills. Over the past 30 years, our product line has expanded, but our objective remains the same-provide a better way to cook outdoors.

Before extended storage, I always empty the pellets from the hopper after using the smoker. Once the shutdown is complete, I empty the burner ashes. Then, I use the feed cycle to clear the auger of the remaining pellets. This ensures that the auger will not jam the next time I use it due to moisture breaking down the pellets and then turning into a wood putty in the auger cylinder.
As a former Traeger+ user, I must say that switching to Asmoke has been a game-changer for me. The precise temperature control that Asmoke offers is simply unparalleled. The dual sensors and new PID algorithm make it so easy to maintain the perfect cooking temperature. Additionally, being able to remotely adjust temperature and monitor food temperature has been super convenient. I just wish Camp Chef would have addressed the large amount of heat that escapes the sides. Makes the side shelves almost unusable!!

There is no way to know if it is lit or not and when to close the valve. I ended up just keeping it open my entire cook. 10 minutes into my cook it still wasn’t lighting my chips

I am thinking about this griddle but the biggest design a Extra I was excited about I don’t think will work! I’m concerned the spatula will get hot if you leave it in that cut out section by the grease tray!!

can i use this method for the single burner portable camp chef flattop?
i went camping with my son and notice he was cooking on a camp chef stove both sides of the burners were flaming yellow and smoking He though that was normal been like that since he bought it I adjusted the air flow and one side looks great now Blue in color However i can not get the other side to adjust i Rotated the air cutoff and it doesn't change anything . I took the valve apart and check it and didn't see any problem . Everything i do on that side did not change the flame its still yellow and smoking Got any advice for me thanks

Except it doesn’t when it’s windy. I was initially very impressed and loved my griddle, however that quickly turned to disappointment when I couldn’t use it last weekend. Even with a manual light, it didn’t stay lit. Huge bummer!

STOP. There is a QR code that comes with your BBQ/smoker that shows ALL the steps. This guy misses a couple key steps that require you to disassemble and start over. Step 15 he shows re-installing the heat deflector however he doesn't show securing it with 4 screws that were not included in our box of parts. He also left out Step 9.4 the Feeder Bracket that goes on the Hopper.
I know you guys pulled it off the market for a redesign. I’m hoping the redesign involves adding the smoker box to the Apex. I was very interested in Apex because of the convenience of the gas/pellet combo - then I learned of the Woodwind with the smoker box - and I got stuck with analysis-paralysis. Need the versatility of one but really want that smoke feature. So there we are - that’s what you need to figure out. Apex premium price without the smoker box doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. You need to find a way.

Just put mine together yesterday, gonna cook breakfast on it today. Went together easy with minimal tools and appears to be built to withstand a hurricane, but I live in Ohio so I won’t have to worry about that. Can’t wait to start the summer!
